Brand Story
Ever since I was a child I always had a love for colourful fashion and making clothes for my dolls. When I was 15 I got my first taste for fashion design when I entered a prestigious fashion design competition Junk Kouture. I loved the experience so much I entered a few times. My designs ranged from dresses made out of newspaper, chicken wire and mirrors. This was where my passion for sustainable designs began. At this stage I still couldn't sew or make patterns but I knew I wanted to go to Art College. It was at Limerick School of Art and Design really flourished as a designer. It was through many challenges, projects and classes I found my unique style and techniques as a designer and I mastered sewing and pattern drafting. It's important in the fashion industry to gain as much experience as possible so I moved to London for an internship for 3 months to work for a Fashion Designer. It was in my time here that benefited my skills on how to run a fashion label. With the knowledge and experience I had developed throughout my course and placement I graduated with a Ba honours degree in Fashion Design.
When I graduated college the world went in to lockdown due to covid-19 I began making face coverings and to my surprise my business took off much quicker than I expected. I decided to leave my part time job to work on building my brand. My instagram quickly grew to 2k followers and I then launched my own website.
My brand grew even further in sales by launching two innovative and ground breaking collections in the first 12 months. I launched these clothing collections because I saw the need in the Irish fashion industry for more affordable ethical sustainable handmade Irish clothing enabling access for more people to shop more sustainable designs. It can be difficult to know who is actually making their clothes and I wanted to build a brand where my clothes would be handmade in my studio in Tipperary by me.
